I do not have a quilting machine, nor do I quilt on my
regular sewing machine. The two things I really like about making quilts is picking the pattern and then the fabric to go with it. I do the cutting and piecing just
because I have to to get a top ready to quilt. Do them all
by hand because I love to 'quilt'. I have done it for so many years, but I just never tire of it.

I too quilt on my old Bernina 1530 that is in the shop for service. The trick is to have the quilt support around your machine especially on your left side. Flipping it over one's shoulder NEVER worked for me. I also have quilted over 200 quilts but due to my disability, I quilt ONLY for me now. That is MUCH MORE FUN !! Except for the pain especially in the fingers.... :)

Thanks.
I don't have one. I am not even sure I want one.

Nope, I don't have one either. Probably never will, at least until I get a sewing room again. Had to give mine up when we had kids. They have to move out sometime, right?

I too have ended up hand quilting all my larger and many of my baby quilts. I have not been bold enough to fight with the bulk of a large quilt on my regular machine. You guys inspire me to try!
