I have been looking for AG patterns myself. Do you mind telling me where you found yours? I have 2 granddaughters & plenty of fabric but not the $$$ that clothes goes for at AG stores. I would love to see more of your finished work too!

In the past, I have used the patterns in the pattern catalogs, that are made for the 18 inch dolls. They have worked fine. Now when I did this, my girls did not have the real American Girl dolls. We had the ones from Target that were 18" dolls, but the clothes fit just fine.

This is the books that I downloaded. Might have been cheaper to buy real books! The books are all 50-60 pages each and I printed Molly, Kristen and Samantha.

I sew for my granddaughters' American Girl dolls - I found a dress form for 18" dolls at a fabric shop. It works great - I don't need the doll - can just use the form for fit and length.

I made outfits for my grandaughter's Americam girl doll. She lives in another state so I couldn't use her doll for fitting. I bought a cheaper version doll at Target to use as a dress form. The commercial 18" doll patterns worked great but I found the waist needed to be bigger on almost all of the pants, not a difficult adjustment. I still have my cheap Target doll, too cute to give away.

Well, I was a bit late in reading your post and would have been happy to measure one of my daughter's dolls, only you found that site and have the info you need. It is brilliant of you to think of using your fat quarters to make doll clothes for your niece! She will be thrilled! My 22 year old daughter has her 2 dolls on doll stands in her room. Even now that she is in college, she still occasionally changes their outfits. LOL

HI!
My daughter has some of these doll and so I measured Samantha, so her ya go:
waist - 11.5"
leg length - 8"
head circum. - 12.5"
arm/sleeve length - 5.5"
torso - 6"
I also measured her dress length (shoulder seam to bottom edge) - 10"
Hope it helps!

I tried to download these patterns but I get an error message once the download is finished, it says "image error". I wonder why and I will call Dell to see is something is wrong with my computer.
I'm sure these patterns will fit as they were created for AG dolls therefore any pattern for 18" doll will fit
