I took a class and our project was an elephant. I came home with 5 pieces attached to the background. My husband said that doesn't look like elephant colors. It wasn't we were doing a abstract type(using red, blue, green, etc). I love it and several people have ask for it when I get tired of it. SOOOO my thoughts are try both and I think any animal is a good place to start. Who's heart doesn't melt when seeing one.

I love the landscape themes with water as a basic theme and the natural wildlife that would be there: loons, swallows, frogs, marsh roses and other natural plants. That kind of thing.

Wildyard that sounds like a beautiful quilt idea. I love all the things you mentioned. How fun to out them all into one quilt!

LOL, I love the way it sounds, but have NO CLUE as to how one would go about creating such a lovely thing!

The best place to find this kind of thing is to Google "free coloring page" + _________ <whatever you're in the mood for....cats, hummingbirds, Christmas, whatever>. Gets you all kinds of easy to trace patterns!
