Another "How would you quilt this?" question...
This is my daughter's pixelated heart. I'm going to QAYG and normally I can figure something out but in this case I'm stumped!
Thank you.
(Sorry-color not too good. Took picture with my Ipod)

I was thinking of small applique hearts and fussy cut kittycats in the background. I was planning on using variegated pink thread for quilting and appliqueing and using decorative stitching too.
I would like to do heart shaped outlines in the middle of each color ring but that might look funny with squares...

I'm getting there-ideawise anyway.
Decorative scalloped-type stitching around outside so it looks like lace.
I have another stitch that looks like the line you see on a heart monitor. I thought maybe that one for outlining rounds of color. This would be done using the variegated pink thread.
I was having a hard time getting this thing started-fear factor of all those tiny squares-and also the lengthy process.
It is starting to click now and I'm picking up little shortcuts as I go.
The adding machine tape seems to make it a little faster piecing.
I can't wait to get all the blocks done now so I can start quilting and putting it together.
