If I don't want to deal with having only one feed dog work - say if I'm feeling especially twitchy - I move the needle position way to the right (7) and use the edge of the ziggy foot (which has the button to go over the 'speed bumps') and a piece of tape for a guide. That way I put the dogs to work. But there is no nice little metal flange for the fabric edge to butt up against.

I twisted invisible thread into my Janome Horizon bobbin case yesterday - she is now in the car waiting to go to the machine doctor. I then used an older Janome with a ordinary walking foot, OUCH, awful. The Accufeed foot is amazing and you do not realise it till you don't have it. I set my Janome at 5.5 width for a 1/4 inch seam, however I always feel that the seam is a tad wide. What do other quilters on the forum set their Janome machine width at for a 1/4 inch seam please???

    Everyone's machine is a tad different - for me it's 5.7.

With the 1/4" Acufeed it's a 6.5 for me in general. And I can budge the needle to this position even with the single hole plate on. Mine is the 6600. :-D
