Another use for Add a Quarter

Another use for Add a Quarter
When I make my flying geese units, I use my Add a Quarter ruler to but right up to the seam where I am going to cut. The lip stops perfectly on the stitched line. Then the triangle I cut off is ready to stitch and use for another project.

I’ve got a little ruler (can’t remember what it’s called but designed for this job!) you stitch your line as normal, draw on a new line with your ruler (I guess it is ‘add a half’ and stitch of this line. You then cut in between the two stitched lines. You have your flying geese unit or HST unit you were making plus a bonus smaller HST to save for another project. I’ve only used it a couple of times but keep meaning to make more effort to use it
