Default Any quilt stores in RENO??

I'm going to Reno the end of his month. Are there any HAVE TO VISIT quilt shops?? What else is there to do besides gamble? I know I'm going to gamble altho don't think the gambling money will last the entire time we're there soooo gotta have a couple other activities. Also, any great restaurants that anyone can recommend?? Thank you!! Never been to Reno and am looking forward to it

I found these when I googled. You'll find some reviews with the listings.

If you have a car, take a trip to Lake Tahoe. It is so beautiful there. Sorry, don't know any quilt shops there.

There are several but I have been to Windy Moon and Going Batty. Both are excellent with different selections. Enjoy!

I agree with teddy300. WindyMoon is wonderful and so is Going Batty. I was at both last June. They are a distance apart so use your GPS.

Actually Windy Moon just opened a new store on pyramid way near John Asquaga's Nugget in sparks. The original store is still there off fourth street. You can see the tall Holiday Inn right next door to it from the freeway.

The Going Batty is one of my favorite stores to visit. It is on south Virginia near south meadows parkway. It is a little tricky to find because it is facing the freeway and hidden until you drive back to the back of the complex. Just turn where the winco foods store is and then bare to the left into the complex next door. Drive two short building blocks to the back and turn left. Your there!

There is Sew and Such on the corner Kitzke and Grove street. And one quilt store a block south from the atlantis casino on Virginia street that the name of escapes my memory.

There is also a Joann's behind and very near the Convention Center on Kitzke in Reno. Hancock Fabrics is on greenbrae Lane in Sparks and one of my favorite places to shop for fabric and notions. And if that isn't enough, there is a Mill End fabrics directly off Kitzke that has tons of nice fabric and some notions.

I hope your stay here is fun and that the weather is as beautiful as it has been recently. You would think it is spring.

Oh there is the Atmospherium Planetarium that is very fun and the showings change so check what they are showing. It is very near the downtown area. Also there is the Wilbur May Museum of all his travels and part of his furnishings in the Rancho San Rafael park. Also near the downtown area and very interesting to see.

If you feel like driving 40 minutes you could visit a real old time mining and gambling town up in Virginia City. The turn off for it has the signage if you follow south Virginia. It is called Geiger Grade.

Thank you all for your thoughts and ideas. We will have a car so Geiger Grade is something I'm interested in seeing...also, I've seen reviews about Going Batty and this confirms that's one of the quilt shops I'll try very hard to go to. Thank you again for the information.

I cannot go to or through Reno without stopping at Windy Moon. You will enjoy it a lot. I have never made it to Going Batty, because I always spend my limit before I leave Windy moon. Someday I will go there first, and see if I can make both shops
