While that would look nice, it wouldn't fit my goal of all blues. This is just something stuck in my head, I want to do. Introducing another color would change the entire feel. . . and then I'd have to start all over, again!

When I have had trouble with the right tone (lately grays), I load my sprayer with fabric paint and spray away. Dry, wash and dry and I am ready!

Sometimes I get caught up in that kind of cycle, too, Neesie. And then I suddenly find myself losing interest in the whole project. Your mention of the purples, for instance. I'd probably put those blues aside for now and do the purple quilt instead and then go back to the blues. If I force myself to keep doing something that gives me problems, I dislike it more each time I work on it. For something that, for me anyway, is essentially a hobby, that feels like a contradiction in terms!

Ummmm . . . I don't have quite enough "right" purples, either.
