I've always been curious about what the point is of the postcards - do you actually mail them, or are they just little decorative items?

I made quite a few as gifts for my friends here on the board when they very kindly donated heaps of fabric to my quilting group while I was living in Spain.

Here's a link to the topic with pictures galore!! Enjoy!

Here's one I made several years ago when I was trying Ricky Tims' convergence technique. I do small samples before I try big stuff. I don't like to waste fabric if I'm not enjoying the technique. I felt like it wasn't pretty enough to send to anyone ;-)

I used stiff interfacing on the back.

I made the card front first, then edge stitched the interfacing onto the front.

We did an exchange last year! I had never made one before I loved it. I was the lucky recipient of Izy's "Bell Flower"

I have one that I mailed to my sister in 1995 postmark clearly visible. She returned it for another one! Making postcards for sale at the quilt museum, lobsters are going fast. I use the lightweight stiffener, fuse the stamped fabric back on and the fused front. Then cover the front with Misty fuse and tulle and fuse the dickens out of it before satin stitching the edges. Quick and easy. Need to figure out how to post the pictures in this spot instead of the general spot, or will post in the general spot later today.

These look very dimensional. How do they go through the mail. A clear envelope?
