Is it by any chance the Wonky Log Cabin by Quilt in a Day? It does take a special ruler.

This is the pic I saved: https://i.pinimg.com/originals/69/e2...c3607954a9.jpg

And labeled it 3d log cabin made with wedges. I didn't save the info how it was done and can't find a pattern anywhere. At first look it seems it was done with strip sew like a log cabin.

See Gay's post above ............. just different strip widths and numbers of strips.
Or yes, as you have suggested, sew it like a 1/4 log cabin.
If you go back to the original thread, I am pretty sure there were either links to the pattern,
    or someone shared a tutorial.

The trick is getting the right fabric combos to give you that 3-D effect.
    Good Luck!

The only link goes to a kit sold on Amazon. Someone here posted that someone she knew bought the kit and the pattern was wedges cut from strips. I suppose I can figure it out but having the pattern would be less brain work.

Then why not ask that person via a PM?
and find out more from her?

It would seem (to me, at least) that Gay's tutorial might be considered wedges.

I drew that pattern out in EQ7. This is the block made with 2 1/2 inch strips. I think the strips are bigger in the quilt on the bed. Maybe as big as 4 inches. It is a Quarter log cabin block. Color placement is everything. In the picture of the quilt, they show a border of the same color on each block on all 4 sides. I did the border as a sashing on the quilt I designed.

By the way....no wedges. Just straight strips

I have checked all sources of the pic. None lead to anyone, all are reposts. I'll find it. It can be made with strips but the post here said how it was actually made by wedges. Just a long shot someone remembered.

I took the photo link you gave us, and zoomed in, way in.
You can see where the seamlines are. No wedges.
It's done the same way as BarbInLouisiana's pattern drawing.

Maybe you are talking about the self-mitered log cabin by Anita Grossman Solomon.
This is where you sew strips together, cut squares, and then cut into half-squares to make HST.
Here is a post about it
Self Mitered Log Cabin my new favorite quilt!
