    Smile Applique block for august theme.
    I like to do monthly applique blocks. What is the theme for August? I know July is usually 4th of July and Sept is usually a school theme. I need ideas for August.......thanks

    Sunsets, sailboats, beach chairs, sandpails & shovels, late season bloomers: sunflowers, coneflowers, asters etc.

    Do you have a fair where you live? Ours is the end of July/beginning of August... Farm animals and carnival rides and food! :-)

    I think dog days of summer. Maybe a simple beach scene with sky, sun and sand, with a little umbrella stuck into it.

    Guess the question for you is .... what does August mean to you?

    It might be any of the above ... or perhaps a family reunion or birthday that is in August? a picnic? or????


    For me ........... I'm doing a block with corn cobs!
    August to me has always been all about corn on the cob and fresh peaches!


    As for September ... I'm still debating ... it will NOT be back to school ... or apples!
