You can't iron Minky, because it will melt. But, you can use a washable glue stick or Roxanne's Glue-baste-it. Maybe you could stitch it down with a basting stitch before you finish the raw edge?

I imagine there might be an embroidery machine design for Cookie Monster, but don't know if you have an embroidery machine. I don't have one, but I've seen some really cute things done with minky on an embroidery machine.

What about looking for a coloring book with Cookie Monster characters in it? I know my aunt used coloring books for a lot of patterns she needed.

Check out "Fandom in Stitches" and go to Muppet Characters. There is a Cookie Monster paper pieced pattern there.

I just finished a little quilt with a teddy bear on it. I used fleece. I'd do it again as the edges won't fray and Teddy is very soft. He should launder well, too. I have no experience with minky.

Remember everyone, Glue Baste IT glue is Elmers. Don't waste your money on refill GBI glue. LOVE THEIR APPLICATOR! Buy Elmer's or any water based white glue and fill up that GBI applicator.

I used fake fur to make a jungle cat quilt for my DGD and hand tacked them down.

I make alot of my appliques using color book pages, I just enlarge them to the size that works for the current project. I have not appliqued with minky but alot of other "non-applique type fabrics" and have not had any trouble going around the edges after glueing or with laudering.
