I use the sew around and interfacing method. I can say my points are rounded. But, I am usually making flowers and no two flowers are the same anyway. But I tried the freezer paper method and it drove me nuts.

Hi, I haven't been on the quiltingboard in a really long time but I did a couple tutorials on youtube for some of the members in the Dear Jane quilt along. I have used freezer paper in the past and am still willing to teach it but I use back basting in my applique. This may be a better option from your description. I'm actually getting ready to do either photo, video or a combination for a little group of friends.
