Thanks for the input today. Leaving work late due to a meeting that ran longer than intended, so am thinking of driving down and back tomorrow, possibly staying overnight tomorrow night.

Cheers, K

If you need the time away go for it. Your husband can still go to the game. Since you work and planned for this week end I would go two days and one evening, make some new friends, learn some hints from others and feel like a new person when you get home. As mothers we always think of others, this is your week end you had planned, Go Girl, enjoy!!

I am often guilty of putting the rest of the family ahead of me.

After getting delayed at work, the idea of driving 3 hours, especially in the dark was totally unappealing, and not so much for early morning either.

We went out for a nice dinner and I floated the idea of buying a nice chair versus going, which surprised DH, and I think pleased him that I'll be around.

He and Gus will head to the movies after hockey tomorrow night so that I can have some time alone to work on projects uninterrupted. So a happy compromise.

I do have three scrapbook/craft retreats coming up in the spring to look forward to.

I finally have my decision and I'm happy with it. Hopefully next year I'll be able to take Friday off instead of trying to leave work early.

Cheers, K

Gramajo - Thanks for the push! Made me laugh out loud. Would love to have had you nearby to pack and shove me out the door.
