the Log Cabin with a Twist pattern? I have a very sweet and dear quilting friend who is bestowing upon me her entire stash including all her books and notiions. The Log Cabin with a Twist is one she was really wanting to make for herself but she is no longer able to quilt and is giving it up. So, I thought it would be a nice gesture to make this one for her but I wanted to see if any of the wonderfully smart ladies on this site had any suggestions for making this pattern easier to do. Thank you in advance for your help.

This is a pattern that I would definitely chain piece. It would be much quicker and easier to keep the colors all in the correct order too.
I would make a template for cutting out the wedge shapes, stack the fabric and cut enough for the quilt, and place in a plastic bag with the template on top. Repeat for all of the pieces. Then when you start to piece, grab a bag and sew away :D:D:D
