Default Baby Quilt for Great Grandchild

I need to make a baby quilt for a great grand daughter and the mother requested a "girlie girlie" quilt as she wants her daughter to be a little princess. I've never given this much thought before. Have made teddy bear quilts and many others for all the grands and greats but this has me puzzled..Being 81, I hear something new every day. How about some suggestions? Please.

Lots of pink fabric! That's what I think of. If you want to go the princess route, Fabric.com has Disney Princess fabric. Here's what I found:

I bet her mom would like that :-)

you might consider adding lace when you do the binding.

I think this one looks very girlie - soft pinks and white and you could even add lace to make it more girlie. Just simple 9 patch and snowball block. And a scalloped border would look real nice too.

Made this one for my grandaughter. I like the twisted bow blocks and they were fun to make.

I agree with something like klgls has made. It "looks very girlie - soft pinks and white" and is made from two simple blocks. Very pretty and simple rolled into one, can't ask for anything more!!

Pink, pink and more pink. All of the ideas above are great my choice would be to use the pale pinks with white like Klgls, with either some lace or a soft ruffle and white minky on the back.

I agree--lots of soft pink and perhaps soft florals mixed in. A ruffle edge would be cute too! Or a wavy scallop edge binding.

Pale pink and rose pink with a little white is my choice. Floral is good, too. I'm not too fond of lace on a quilt as it doesn't wear as well as the quilt.

Yes klgls has made a girlie girlie quilt for sure you could add scalloped border and lace to an inner border it would be perfect, but yes the choice of fabric is important, pinks and creams and maybe soft greens!
