backing color for white n multi front

Way back when . . . and there was not the batting selection we have today, my first instructor told us beginners: "your backing cannot be darker than the lightest color from the top" (owing to bleeding or showing through). Things have changed!

I use lots of white and never had anything show through with W&W batting. Be sure to use Warm & White (same company) batting, not the cream colored Warm&Natural batting because the cream batting does dull the white cotton in the top somewhat. As for backing, I would probably use a white background floral, print or stripe that had the colors from the front in the print design, then use white thread for the quilting.
