How about red with a black flange or really narrow black inner border?

Congratulations. It is a stunning quilt. Have seen several Bali Stars and this one is exceptional.

Very nice work. I wanted to do the Bali Star, but the pattern was to expensive.
I like the red. I don't like working with black, can't see that well. lol
