    Hi Barb,

Thanks for the tute, I'm also going to be making the quilt as soon as I get finished quilting the Sharman's Vintage Garden quilt. Oh, then I have to make a tablerunner for an upcoming class, and then I have a Simon's Folly quilt on the em. But then I will do a bargello quilt. I was just wondering if it is possible to sew the top on a serger? Seems like it would work but I thought I should ask you if you think it would work? It would make the process a bit faster?

Thanks again, your doing a great job and an angel to do this for us. Big hug for you.

Again I don't know how to put it on the computer. I printed out the information but afraid I don't know how to implament it. Have to wait until members of the family come over who are better at this. I have my 4 groups of fabric compiled but am finding that my seams don't match up on the 4th section. Had to change sewing machines middle of making the strips and I think my seams are off a bit so have to wrip out a couple of rows. Wish I had found this before I cut all the pieces. Oh well, I have nothing else to do eh? LOL

Betty, how are you doing with this step?

When changing machines, I always put a sewn piece under the presser foot, next to my seam gauge and lower the needle to see if it will be in the exact same place. If not, then move the needle over one way or the other.
I do this when if I have changed my machine to a differnt pattern from the straight stitch. I have to set my needle position a smidge off from where it would normally hit when I turn the knob to straight stitch, so I can't just select straight stitch and start sewing if I want it to be an exact 1/4" seam.

Well I found this out the hard way. Started sewing pieces together and somehow I think they are out of order - was talking to someone when doing the picking up part but to check myself I'm making sure the rows move up a color so hope that will do it.
Was so disgusted with myself was ready to throw it in the trash.
Hope I'm doing this right. The 1" pieces are really a challenge with only 1/2" showing never worked with such tiny pieces.

I was just reading the instructions again and think I'm sewing in the wrong direction. Correct me if I'm wrong. I go from 1&2 then sew strip 3 to 2 I don't have a long strip like you show in the picture.

Betty, I can visualize what step you are working on. What page is the instructions on so I can look at the picture you are talking about.

Betty, the colors will go up and down both. if you get confused, lay it out on a table and arrange a few at a time, pin together and sew those. Sometimes I've had to do that, takes a while, but after a few strips you should be back in order.
The 1" strips are a pain....aren't you glad I didn't have you cut those 3/4 of an inch? I've only done a couple with the smallest piece at 3/4"...that was enough for me.

I was looking at page 4 #3 with the pile of strips in a chain on the floor.
