Barn quilts are one of my favorite things in KY. Rockcastle County has many of them, they have a map you can follow that is marked with all the barn quilts in their county.

Aren't they fun? My DD and family live in western North Carolina, and there are Quilt Trails in her area. There are now over 100 quilt blocks on buildings all around between her and Asheville. They are so fun to drive around and look at.

I'm in Illinois and we have a few barns that have quilt squares on them. I love seeing them. Eleanor Burns book has a lot to do with promoting the idea. I don't have a barn (wish I did) live in town, but my daughter did paint a Dutchman's puzzle block on a square of tin, we sealed it and have it on the wall on the front of our house....it is not as big as the barn ones this one is about 20"x20" but I like it. All quilters should have a block somewhere on their property...I thought of painting one on our mailbox before the one on the house was put up

They are beautiful. We were in Morgan County Colorado a couple of weeks ago and found several. Of course I didn't take my camera that day. I came home and looked them up on the internet and they have over 100 Barn Quilts in Morgan Cty. We plan on taking a day to go back and of course I will have my camera with me when we re-visit.....

There is a quilt barn driving tour in this area. I hope to find out more about it and come back later in the fall to visit them all. There are a few that I couldn't get a picture with my phone. We are here for Breyerfest with my girls so Friday, Saturday and Sunday will be full.
