Even if they steal your catalogue, you can always go on line <LOL>.

Have fun with your new obsession. I love batiks, too! And Fabric.com has a great selection.

I received my connecting threads catalog this week. I wonder how they are able to carry batiks so inexpensively. They are up to $9+ at the quilt store. I'm thinking about buying a sampling of their batiks to compare.

I also bought a bunch of batiks from Roberta. She held them for me because I was coming through her hometown so we saved on the shipping costs. Long story short, I stopped at her house and 3 hours later I left with 2 more boxes of batiks! She is getting low on certain colors, but she still has a lot for sale at a very reasonable price! I would definitely buy more from her and highly recommend her as a seller. Plus she is an awesome person - we had a blast while I was there!

Love the feel of them as well as the gorgeous colors.

I can't wait till she has some more, but last I heard, her supplier was ill (hope he is well soon).

My wallet however is enjoying the break, because I always spend at least double what I would at a visit to Joann's or LQS since they are so lovely and I MUST have lots of them!

Batiks are my choice, they are far superior in colour saturation and the hand of a good batik is much nicer the regular prints...welcome to world of being a batik-addict

I recently discovered Candy's Quiltworks in Northridge, California. They have 2 wall, 3 rows high, of all batiks. Most any color or style you can think of. I don't remember the price. I was dizzy from all the wonderful fabric. And yes, 8 half yard cuts followed me home! Google Maps will get you right there.

I stopped the other day, because a lady wanted a certain type of fabric, and found this AWESOME pile of batik FQ's. ON SALE! Never really looked at them, because I knew they were out of my budget, but these were only 2.00 a FQ! SO, I bought a few..........went back a while later for more!
NOW, I am checking them out in the Connecting Threads catalog......oh, no, new obssesion??????????

Connecting Threads has beautiful batiks and they are only $5.96 a yard. And, if you order $50 the shipping is free. Ordered a few and they are so nice.

I'm only admitting to this board how serious my batik addiction is. Three walls in my quilt room are filled with fabric from floor to ceiling. A bank of windows occupies my fourth wall or else there would be fabric there too! But one of the three walls is entirely dedicated to batiks. I have never met a batik I didn't like. So far I've restrained myself from ordering from Connecting Threads, but after reading so many comments about Connecting Threads's batiks, I'm caving in! There is no hope for me.
