Are the batiks in Connecting Threads and Keepsake Quilting catalogs good batiks? it sounds like you have to be careful about buying them. JoAnn's is really my only local store for quilting fabric and has some batiks.

I, too, love batiks. The colors are so vibrant and each quilt is different. The quilt shown here is totally batik. There are 22 different fabrics in this quilt and the colors make the design. The pattern is the basic log cabin. So easy to do and looks so complicated.

I love batiks and this is a laugh....I hate to cut them up. They are the best to work with when doing stain glass projects. Anytime that I have a project with the raw edge effect I always use them.

Art comes from the heart. Don't fear other people's judgement. A non-quilter will not understand so don't put too much effort into trying to please them. Just do your quilt and post it in here were people understand and can truley appreeciate it.
