Lee & Mary your quilts are beautiful. I love batiks also and have been collecting them a little at a time for a quilt.

    (1) "Celtic Sea Spirals" (28x28) - I made this as a sample for a Celtic Applique class that I taught. I have yet to quilt and bind it since I plan to teach the class again soon and students need to see the back of the quilt top to see what's what sometimes. I'll echo quilt in rayon variegated thread. The fabrics came from leftovers and "failed auditions" for the "Stained Glass Braid" quilt (#3 below).

    (2) "Category 1 Miami - A Small Storm at Sea" (24x24) - I made this for the "Quilting Natural Florida II" Exhibit, which was a joint effort of my quilt guild and the University of Florida (Gainesville, FL) Museum of Naturasl History.

    (3) "Stained Glass Braid" (70x93) - I made this in a workshop taught by Jane Hardy Miller, author of French Braid Quilts. No, I didn't follow the rules but made a quilt I really, really liked. I do an "honest" French Braid quilt with proper gradation another time.

Hello, my name is Connie and I'm a batikaholic. When I enter a quilt shop. my feet take me to the batik section first and won't let me leave until something attaches itself to me and I hand over my money. At least 2/3 of my stash is batiks. I'm a charter member of the batik club at my favorite LQS (http://www.quiltsandtreasuresinc.com/) and never leave a meeting without buy a few FQs at the very least.

Here are a few of my latest creations.

Have you seen the batiks from SWDecretives. I think the line of batiks is called Land of Enchantment. My problem with them is that I go in after some fat quarters and love the designs so much I wind up only getting 2 of the batiks but 5 yards of each.

Love your quilt. If anyone lives near Kerrville TX, Creations on Main St. is having a sale on batiks this weekend. Oh, I felt like a kid in a candy shop and bought some beautiful batiks.
