Great quilt; is it a Bonnie Hunter design? I have done several of hers for Quilts of Valor. Any color combo seems to work!

I recently made a lap quilt in a "shuffle the deck" technique -- all batiks. You use 6 fabrics each of 5 colors, and try to blend, but other than that, it's very easy piecing and construction.

Regarding using Batik Fabric, look on to the Arkansas Man Quilter website, he has some stunning quilts designed by Louisa L. Smith, Strips n Curves is the title of the book, I have ordered this book cannot wait to get started.

"Eternal", "The Cosmos" and "Fall Leaves" are all done in Batik, they are some of the most stunning quilts and Wall Hangings on this planet.

I cannot wait to bring the lovely batik fabric designs to life in these fantastic quilts.

Regards

Carol

One pattern that is really nice is "murkey pond". Also works great with regular cotton fabrics.

I'm planning on doing a celtic knot style using batiks, they only need full squares and HST's.

And now I'll admit it's about 10th on my current To-Do List.

And RST, I love yours!

Check out SmithStreetDesigns.com. They have 2 floral patterns that are beautiful. One is Wild!Flowers and the other one is More Wind!Flowers. I've made both of them and love them.

Would a dresden plate look nice with batiks or is that a bad idea?
