I love browns and greens - those are "my" colors - but I seldom quilt with them together for some reason. I think good browns are hard to find.

Secondary colors - orange, green, purple - and make them bright!

Every year I look for a really great chestnut brown that has other fall colors mixed in( small scale) ... still looking.

Ditto - I love fall colored batiks - I have lots in my stash - seems like everytime I am at the LQS I pick up another fat quarter.

That would be my pick, too... some mossy greens, some warm browns, a dull gold, &/or a muted rust... YUM! And to think I didn't used to like batiks!!!

I made the attached "Yellow Brick Road" for my DH out of a variety of earthy batiks (I think they were McKenna Ryan's). He loves it. I think it looks like mud (tho I do like the panto on it --- moose & pine trees). But not because of the batiks... the pattern just wasn't the right one (IMHO). But, he LOVES it & that's all that matters.
