    Default batting or no batting?

Hello.. I am finishing up a quilt and it will have minky on the back.

The quilt is big - 84" x 84". I have never used minky on a quilt this big

On baby quilts use minky and I do use batting to keep things soft.. for if the quilt is put on the floor I figure the batting pads the floor for the little one

Would batting be "too much" with minky on a big quilt ? I will either use hobbs 80/20 or the warm and white because that is what I have

I once didn't use batting with a tshirt quilt and I was sorry - I really missed the batting

    What do you guys think?

We put batting in our labyrinth walk quilt which is 90 x 90 with Minky on the back. We love it and it's really cuddly. Not all that heavy either. I used Hobbs 80/20 batting.

I would add batting, soft and thin would be the way to go I believe.

I'm using a light poly batting with a fleece backing and I love how it's coming out, so I vote for batting.
