Has anyone made this Ruth Powers quilt .... Third Weekend in October?

I saw this @ my local quilt guild last week & while I don't think the photo does this quilt justice, I'm here to tell you that the finished quilt top is STUNNING. One of the most stunning that I've yet to see.

I'd like to make it for my daughter & her fiancé who are marrying the third weekend in October, 2016.
I just think that it is meant to be.

Now, I'm not all that experienced of a quilter, but I am confident that I can do this.
I just do not like to piece very large quilt tops. I prefer a twin ... and I like doing table runners & wall hangings. But, because this is STUNNING, I'll make myself do it.

The designer offers this in a wall hanging but it looks to me like the fabric blocks are larger than the bed quilt .... & I don't find that to be as attractive.

I thought I could use the bed quilt pattern & reduce the block size down (by starting with smaller squares that are cut out) but the lady who made hers (that I saw), said that would be too complicated since some of this is using paper piecing.

Thought I'd ask if anyone here would like to make this with me?

And I'd love to see a picture.
I have a feeling that this is going to be complicated as far as arranging the colors, but I've already begun collecting fabrics that I can use.

I too have seen this quilt at a show and you are right, it is stunning. I don't blame you one bit wanting to make it. I hope you get some takers on your quilt-a-long and post pictures as you progress.

I like this quilt a lot but just do not want to invest more in patterns as I have so many already. Years ago I bought a book called The Creative Pattern Book by Judy Martin. It has a quilt on the cover and pattern in it from Chris Hulin called Autumn Fantasy Flagrantly Fall that looks very similar but has some inset seams. There are also free leaf patterns online with paper pieced leaves similar to these.

That quilt is mesmerizing. I have the Creative Pattern Book, and like the quilt in it also. Do you know if the foundation papers are included in the Ruth Powers quilt? (I doubt it, at the price given.) I might be interested in making that quilt, but I would want to make it wider for either a queen or a king (not just by adding wider borders) and don't know how difficult that would be. If you have to print your own foundation papers, I would also want to know whether they could be printed on a standard printer without having to tape together pages. So - lots of questions about the Ruth Powers quilt, while it would be relatively easy to make the Autumn Fantasy any size you wanted.

I started it years ago. Made it through 2 or 3 of the pp patterns. At the time, just to hard. Maybe now.

I made this quilt!
My best advice is to take it slow and steady. Stay organized and have fun, you will get it finished if you take it one block at a time.
I did not paper-piece everything the designer suggests (my HST, stem pieces and QST were made overlarge and then trimmed).
I wish I had used more tone-on-tone and less high-contrast fabrics for the backgrounds, and since I was a fairly new quilter when I made it I didn't have much stash to work from so I repeated fabrics more often than I would have liked.

The pattern is printed on a large sheet, almost like clothing patterns. I actually re-drafted the PP blocks (yes I'm an engineer...) but they would be easy to trace onto freezer paper. Each PP block is only 2.5 inches square, so an easy size to work with and most of them are quite simple PP shapes.

The layout pattern itself is quite small and a bit difficult to read, I think I ended up enlarging it on a copier.

Thanks. i just ordered the pattern. I have been collecting fall batiks and this looks perfect for a fall quilt.
