Since I mostly use recycled fabrics everything is washed. I iron and starch my pre-washed fabrics before I cut, When I buy new fabrics to finish out a mostly recycled quilt, I take them to the basin and rinse them until the dyes don't run. I like to iron them and fold them on 5 inch square cards if they are small or 12 inch cardboards if they are large. That makes storage neater.

I did not used to wash the fabric before I cut it unless it was red or intense blue, but lately I need to wash and dry all fabric before I start piecing. My stash is too big to go back and wash it all, so I just do it as I go. I starch before I cut and sometimes after the blocks are made.

hi bearisgray. I usually wash, dry and iron then sit aside. Otherwise iron before cutting. It fabric doesn't seem real stable and want to use anyway, I starch before cutting.

forgot...gave up website to have savings for mailing 3 to 4 more dolls. web site brought their prices up too much to maintain. 303 dolls finished up ...5 due to go out, and 1 pending. got asked for 2 by Monday, so may have to use 2 from 'stash' and replace quickly, in which case it will be 304 out total by then
