Welcome from Northern California. I pre-wash everything. I have no more ravels than with regular yardage and it makes me feel better. You have already made your quilt so just finish the quilt and take the advice of the ladies that have already spoken. I love that you are starting this young. You have a long time to enjoy this passion. Be sure to show us your projects. BrendaK

Hello and welcome to our world lol. I wouldn't worry about precuts they should be fine a lot of quilters don't wash them until the quilt is made. Enjoy and welcome from Australia.
