Default Bernina 180 + Embroidery Module?

Does anyone have this machine? If so, pros/cons? Also, how much would you pay for a used one?

Would I be able to piece on it or free motion quilt on it? How big is the harp on it?

There was a post yesterday by someone who felt that she couldn't piece on her 180. I responded and referenced a review that indicated the reviewer didn't have the same problems. You can see the post here - http://www.quiltingboard.com/main-f1...e-t241804.html

I have no clue concerning price. Checking the sold listings on eBay might help.

I have had one since 2002. It is a wonderful machine. It does gorgeous embroidery, and sews like a dream. I have had no problems with my machine eating fabric as some complain about. I am always careful to use the correct needle for the thread I am using, and I use new needles for each project. I would love to have one of the newer Berninas with the larger harp space, but I can't justify spending the $$$ when my machine does such a nice job. I love Bernina machines. Look on ebay to check the going prices for them currently.

I had one until I upgraded to the 830. It is a good machine and does embroidery beautifully. I upgraded mine to include the BSR. One of the ladies in our guild used to quilt all of her quilts on this same machine.

I purchased one for my daughter a couple of years ago, but it did not have the embroidery unit. Paid just under $500 at a LQS.
