Default Bernina ruler foot #72

I contacted my Bernina dealer this week and ordered my Bernina ruler foot and the ruler package along with it. Pricey but I can hardly wait until it comes in in November!

I've sure been having fun with my Westalee Template set on my Bernina 230! Which Bernina do you have?

As I understand, the Bernina ruler foot is not supposed to be used on our regular Berninas, but only on their longarm. I tried to order some for the store where I work. But since we don't carry the Bernina quilting machines, they would't let me order them.

Oh, well. We carry the Westalee feet, and they're just great. I've found that the #77 adapter shank works better than the #75. The #77 is a little shorter, so the templates don't get caught on it.

Have fun with it when it comes!

The Bernina ruler foot #72 is supposed to be for regular Bernina machines from the 220 to 800 series I think. If you Google the Bernina ruler foot #72, it should come up. It is more expensive but I can use it without voiding my warranty. I will post pictures of it when i get it.

Wow! So exciting! They've been promising this to us forever & it seems it finally actually will be here in time for this holiday shopping season. I saw they also have a couple sets of mini acrylic rulers to do circles, ovals, straight lines & wavy lines. I'm sure those things cost a fortune, too.
Here's a link with photos for anyone interested: http://www.phatquarters.info/id73.html
It's about halfway down the page. The rulers are also shown.

I really wish they'd just tell us how much the crazy things cost. I always feel like they're running a scam on me with this nonsense about not allowing dealers to publish prices anywhere.

I have the foot on order also -- and the Bernina Dealer can't tell me the price. If anyone finds out what the price for the foot is, and also the cost of the ruler kit -- please let us know!

I have been googling all evening and found a dealer that will preorder the foot-late 2016 delivery. Website states $99 for the foot and $149 for the ruler set. I will call them tomorrow to confirm the prices.

I have a 3 year old Bernina 710...bought it secondhand so I don't have any warranty on it. I decided to buy the Bernina adaptor shank and the Westalee ruler foot so if I ever, (who knows) change sewing machine brands, as long as it is the same height shank requirement I can use the Westalee foot and rulers on the "new" machine as well.

Thanks for the info, ruby2shoes.....I decided to purchase the Bernina shank adapter 77 and westalee ruler foot and starter pack....had to use two different sources, but for a total of $65, much more reasonable than waiting for Bernina. My machine is 4 yrs old...

I have to chime in about the craziness of Bernina dealers "not disclosing prices"....In essence, they have a monopoly...which forces us to simply pay up...regardless...

Bernina's not publishing it's prices is because they don't want the dealers competing with each other. They want customers to buy from their local dealer, not from one across the country. Each Bernina dealer is independent from any other.
