I've always wondered about this also and have always used the clear just for this reason. Guess I'll be following this to find out.

I've used lots of BP and have never had a staining problem.

I have used the lavender PB for years and never had even a hint of a stain.

That is good to hear. The colored ones are $3.00 less on Amazon ($44.00 vs $41) and I don't care what color they are. I was just hesitant spraying the colored ones on white fabric. I can't walk anymore so I have to get things online, and these prices are getting to me. I have always purchased the clear one before because of my hesitancy.

I’ve definitely encountered staining with scented Best Press, most recently the lavender version (and the staining is unfortunately permanent on white fabric). Others in my quilting group have also experienced this issue. Now I only purchase the clear version and have no issue.
