Check out artist supply stores. I found rotary cutters on the mark down table for $3, plexi rulers for $2. ANY markdown table on hardware stores also............. Let's not just shop at the expensive shops, think out of the box!

I just discovered a on-line resource for 108" backing called www.backsidefabrics.com. They only sell backing fabrics 108" and up. They apparently carry known fabric brands. Prices seem to be reasonable and the selection is the best I have found. I have placed my first order so can't wait to see what I get.

[quote=sweet]Ok, there are a few item I have on my quilting wish list, and I'm more than happy to wait for a while to get them. I thought it might be interesting if we could share our thrifty prowess and maybe everybody could save a few dollars.

108" quilt backings - TRY MARSHALL DRY GOODS. That's where I got mine. I think prints are $5.98/yd, solids cheaper.

The bendable brite light that attaches to your machine. Someone on the Board found the cheapest source - c. $29, which is cheaper than I got them wholesale.

the 8" round rotating cutting board from Come Quilt with Me.
I get them wholesale from her so have never looked at other sources. Other than rotary cutter it's the tool I wouldn't do without.

I wanted a long arm too. But then I went on line to Gammill. I figured with everything at least $18,000.00 plus shipping, I no longer want one. I had no idea they had gone up that much.
