If winter has just set in and your talking dollar exchanges you must be in Australia or there abouts! It's only 100 today in sunny Victorville, Ca.

    Enjoy your new toy!
Keep smiling, it makes others wonder what you're up to!

So, last Wednesday I got a call from his daughter, who does the admin part, to say they have one more quilting machine - the 4.0 - and I can have it for N$4 000 less than the asking price ( that would be about US$ 480). Then there was a discussion with DH and sad references to my beloved current Pfaff being 19 years old and hints about even a Rolls Royce reaching the end of its natural life. The pitch must have been okay, because we then went to the bank and made arrangements and I had my lesson on Thursday. Got the new beauty on Friday, devoured the manual Friday evening and started playing on Saturday. What utter joy! Luckily by best friend is also a quilter and has the same model so you can imagine how much fun we had during our usual Saturday sewing session.

I also got a huge bag of Zwicky threads, needles and extra spools at some discount.

Having to leave home this morning was very tough, not only because winter has set in, but also because I have to wait nine hours before hitting my sewing haven tonight.

Thanks for sharing my joy and happiness.
Doing the "HAPPY DANCE" for you. Enjoy!!!

When you said winter is setting in I had to look up where you are. Gosh, Namibia? I learned that it's in South Africa. You're so far away from me yet this site gives us all a common bond. Congrats on your new machine.

Yeah! So excited for you, but sad that your lqs is closing. It's wonderful that your friend has the same machine. Our Janome dealer's store burned, and they aren't going to reopen, so I don't have anybody (except you guys) to run to with questions. Have fun with your new baby and be sure to post pics of your creations! I think I'd take a few days vacation to play!

Congrats to you. I have a QE4, love all the features on it. A bit of a challenge at times finding the right zone for Fmq, but I am finally getting it!

I have a Quilt Expression 4.0 I used for FMQ. It is fun to sew with - so many functions that make sewing so much easier and fun. I am upgrading to a Long Arm, so I am selling the 4.0 to help pay for the Long Arm. But, I will sure miss her. Enjoy your new baby!

I understand your joy and sadness. I went on vacation for two weeks, first thing when I came home was to say HELLO! to my sewing machines.
