binding with 2" strips, vs 2.5"
I've read, and watched you tube videos on binding, and they all seem to mention using 2.5" strips.. Of course I screwed up, and cut the strips in 2" width. I'm wondering if it would be okay to use them, and not double up. The fabric is a thick very good quality fabric. I am also hoping to machine sew them on.. I am trying to finish four of the same quilt for my staff. I want them done, and out of the house so I can go on with my next project..

this was my thought as well. additionally, however, when you make the first fold, bring one side to about 1/16 to 1/8th from the other edge. i usually cut my bindings 2.25", so this is only a tad smaller.

I agree ... no problems, just fold and stitch as usual.
However ... be sure to check after you sew the first few inches, that it folds over and covers your stitching. If not, take out the stitching and make your seam a little narrower. Check again ... and then motor on!

Agree with this, I have threatened to myself will try 2 inch binding, I did last night on a coaster, I do think if I was hand sewing in the final attaching it would not have been the problem it was, even with pressing, it was a job pulling the binding over to hide the first stitching of applying the binding. So now I will stick with my 2 1/2 inch on quilts, the smallest I would go is 2 1/4. As I said the hand sewing might make a difference instead of machine sewing. I agree with the scant 1/4 inch to attach. It will be nice when done though.
