you know, you could always try a little elmers washable glue stick to hold the fabric as you turn it around the corners. i did a hot plate pad, and used it on the inside corners..worked good for me..

The key to binding around any angle is that when you flip the fabric up before you make your fold, make sure that the edge of the binding makes a continuous straight line with the next side you will be binding. Then when you fold it down the angle is set for you.
