I like to bind with the backing fabric because it takes me forever to decide on backing fabric. None of my quilts would be bound if I had to made another decision for a different fabric for binding.

I usually go with the darkest color in the quilt for my binding, also. Though I do like the idea of a striped binding, especially if you can find something printed on the bias!!

I agree with this idea and also the use of a fairly dark binding as the borders do pick up most soiling.

I agree with this idea and also the use of a fairly dark binding as the borders do pick up most soiling.

Buenas tardes, perdón Pero no hablo bien inglés AUNQUE entiendo lo escrito.
Quiza te ayude lo que yo hago. Si el ribete mide 2 1/2" yo hago tiras de 1 3/4" de la tela que quiero que se vea y de 1 1/4" de otra tela que va a quedar escondida. Puede que así tengas suficiente tela.

Acabo de ver esta fotografía. Mi propuesta era la contraria que se viera la tela de las calles y quedara oculta otra tela cualquiera, pero esta opción también es perfecta.

Mostly these days all of my bindings are scrappy I just use a few of the fabrics within the quilt.

I agree with those who suggest scrappy binding.. I have done that a few times and I really liked how it turned out
