I just slip my square ruler under it, push it up past the fabric and then cut at 2 1/2. then i meet the ends just like i do when making the binding strips. done.

I now use the width of the binding. Tried several of the binding tools and that wasn't as successful. Using the width of the binding avoids finding those tools that don't work as well.

Marcy Baker has a YouTube on joining the binding ends. She is extremely skilled. Check out her method.

If your binding is cut 2-1/2", overlap 2-1/2".
