Am just finishing my first quilt done on a black background. Am assuming I need black batting but none of the LQS's have it. What do you use, and where do you get it? Usually use cotton batting. Does it even come in black?

I only used black batting once because the backing on my quilt (black and white) was black flannel and I didn't want the cream or white batting to come through onto the backing. I purchased it at the LQS here.

I buy mine through Connecting Threads when they have batting sales. You can also get it through JoAnne's.

It's called Dream Poly or something. Tons of shops sell it online; just do a search

Quilters Dream makes black poly, which is gorgeous!
Hobbs makes black 80/20, and Legacy also makes black (80/20 I think, might be 70/30).

Connecting Threads is having a batting sale right now. It's Hobbs, I think. I just bought some white, but I think they have black.

I've never used black. I would for a quilt that was predominantly dark fabrics, but since I buy white batting in bulk and use what I have on hand, I rarely have black! I do have a package of black batting, but it's crib quilt sized and I never make quilts small enough to use it!

Here is a link to the CT Hobbs black batting. It's 80/20.

Quilters Dream Midnight Dream Poly Select weight batting is wonderful. It is totally colourfast, quilts beautifully up to 8" apart. I've used it many times.
