    Adding a zing of color will make the quilt more modern looking vs traditional.

    I did one of those as well. I think the 3rd color helps with the optical illusion.

    I think B and W alone are fine as long as the quilt pattern has movement and fabric has pizzaz. If not, add a third color to add interest.

    a friend just made a quilt that was black,white and tan. It was not a zinger just added to the look. The quilt was beautiful

    I liked the winner's circle in two colors. Also the double Irish chain is perfect for two colors. There are probably lots of other patterns that are just as great.

    I did this too but didn't want too much of a zinger so I chose a dark red black.
