That's the biggest worry I have when quilting with my grandchildren. They started sewing with me before they were 5.

Oh bless your heart. Is that going to be the name of this quilt?

I'm sure that hurts but I have been sewing and quilting for mumble-mumble years. O.K. fifty years and I have not done that yet. I am so afraid that I will I am super careful. When it happens, I'll bawl.

While reading this thread, I just had a power surge - too funny. Hope your finger is doing 'swell'. (pun intended as joke)

Ouch. It would be a shock to the system to see that you'd done that. I have a Janome MC4800 but no start/stop button.
take care!!!

i was making a white prom dress for pollly, my best friend. i sat there, looked at the needle going through my pointer finger and into the machine, and thought "oh no, blood on a white dress " and yanked with all my might. no blood on the dress. no flesh inside my fingertip.no food left inside my stomach. no quiet for at least 5 minutes. had never had pain like that! never want to again. forget waterboarding-- this would work on anyone! i've hit my knuckle once or twice since then but my permanently dented fingertip is no where near that pesky needle!!!
