This is noted on the box for both the Simplicity and Writes models, so it should work for most standard bobbins.
Hi there... the one I was looking at definitely stated it wouldn't work with my green bobbin (my machine beeps when bobbin thread low).... I have done a little searching today and see comments that maybe a pink wright bobbin winder might work with it.... but I am fine winding bobbins ahead of my project.

I bought one today at Walmart ($26.99) and will try it with the Featherweight bobbins this weekend. I'll let you know how it goes!

I have the pink sidewinder. Bought it on sale at JoAnn's. I can wind Viking bobbins on it. The white one had to be fiddled with to do Viking bobbins.

I use mine all the time and love it. I usually wind 6 at one time. A friend said her bobbins for her newer Singer did not fit so you need to make sure your bobbin fits.

I do not buy many gadgets, but, a few years ago I saw the sidewinder on sale and bought it. I LOVE IT! Before starting a project, I wind several bobbins and keep them on the spools on the machine. I know it is not a big chore to wind a bobbin on a sewing machine, but this little gadget just makes things a bit quicker and easier. I also think it might save some wear and tear on my sewing machine. Make sure if you are going to purchase it with a coupon that the coupon doesn't exclude it (it is a specific Simplicity product).

Mine works great. I originally got mine for just doing bobbins to carry with me when doing hand applique. I couldn't use it on my main machine because its a Viking. I now have a Brother and will use it for that since I can't wind and sew at the same time like I can with my other machines. I'd buy another before fixing the machine, a lot cheaper.
