I am making the smaller Celtic Solstice, still have to get the borders on but everything is pieced. This is the first of hers I have done and yes there are ALOT of PIECES in her patterns. I wouldn't want to know at the beginning.

Yes, I too like know the number of piece. My Ohmigosh had almost 10,000 pieces and it was only lap size. After that, I think I can handle most anything.

I only counted the pieces once. It was from the Bible block quilt. I counted after. It was terrible to piece. It had 56 pieces and every one was a y seam and took me 10 hours to put together a 9 inch block. If it was the first block I never would have completed the quilt. I gave it to my minister son. I wouldn't like to make a quilt thinking there was 1000's of pieces in it. Counting afterwards that many pieces wouldn't be bad giving one a sense of accomplishment.

Well you've done it now ladydukes..... Now I'll never be able to look at another of my WIPs without at least wondering how many pieces there are in each block Joyce in Delaware

I too have the king size Celtic Solstice in progress (haven't worked on it in a couple of months due to other commitments) and all I can say is there are a LOT of pieces. I would not be surprised if you are correct ... but I am not going to count them to find out.

You need to get these patterns when she is doing these mystery quilts or you will have to wait until her next book comes out and then buy it.
