Anybody out there know of a good Viking--an older one?
I do NOT want a new computerized one!
Have gotten burned twice on eBay, so not sure the third time would be the charm!
This may seem a bit crazy, but....can you cannibalize one of the machines tho replace the 6000 Viking motor? Many dealers have a graveyard in the back with "used parts".
That would be my suggestion as well. If the parts are compatible, I would be combining the good parts of all three to make a 'new' machine, or go to a repair place and get the bits you need.

Unfortunately, the local guy has only been Viking certified three years, and I think he is just "lost" when it comes to combiing parts....he could not find any information.
I did find a dealer in Co. with lots of parts, etc. waiting for a response,.....
these machines are many years old, and have sewed THOUSANDS of hours...
Got burned on eBay as seller did not ship till I was away, and time had expired to get resolution when I had returned after taking care of my daughter who had temporarily gone blind....
Had looked on Craigslist last week, but no one who had posted answered me!
Thanks, all!

I don't know where in OK you are, but call Gambino's 405-387-3693, sewing and vacuum repair along with everything else, he is a great scrounger. He's on 37 between Newcastle and Tuttle

I understand wanting to work with a machine you are familiar with, I inherited a Singer from Mom, and I have a Universal for 45 years, Singer sits in a corner, Universal is used nearly every day.

Sounds as if your daugher might have MS. My daughter does and weird things happens to her off and on. Pray for her.

I think I would blow off this local dealer...he may not have a clue what he is doing with an older model. Check out the other one...after all we do get second opinions from our drs.

It was a laser eye surgery gone wrong--they ruptured her retina....
for those who think it would be neat to not wear glasses---better than being blind in one eye when it goes wrong!
