    Hmm.... I guess I'm the odd one out here. The squares appear to have a hole in the middle to me, I prefer them with a centre scrappy fabric too.

    Thanks for the advice and the nice comments. They do appear to be floating. I had not noticed it myself.

    Sue, my sister gave me a book called Once More Around the Block. The pattern (under another name) is there. It can be made into about five different sizes. I like the 6 inch one. I will send the cutting sizes by email.

    I think I would like for all the larger squares to be all alike too. Maybe I am just tired of all the scrappy blocks I have been making all year.

    I like it fine, but I think what would be pretty to try is to replace the holes with various scraps from the squares.

    Actually, that is what I did on the other 12. I had a different fabric in all the blocks. I just thought I would try something different.
