    Has this ever happened to you? I went to Joann's and bought fabric. It was a large flower print. Well they had a yard that had been cut, that they rolled onto a bolt. I wasn't paying attention. I bought the yard and 2 yards of what I thought was the same fabric from the bolt. Well when I was re-folding it, I discovered that the yard had a tan background but the bolt fabric has a cream background. Otherwise it seems to be the same. (I think) The hydrangas on the bolt is lighter than the ones on the tan fabric. I wish the cutter would have told me that they were different so I could have made a decision to get it the way I did or reject the cut piece and purchase all from the bolt. I am not sure what to do now. Any thoughts.

    Take it back and show the manager, and explain what happened. They might cut you another piece if they still have enough on the bolt.

    That would be so frustrating. I would take it back and see if you can get the matching fabric.

    You can take fabric back to JoAnn's for a refund, although I think you need the receipt.

    It seems Joann's dyelots vary a lot! I've had this same problem, both with quilting and home-dec fabric. Is it the same in a LQS?

    Take it back. If you don't try, you'll never know.
    I'm getting better at sticking up for myself as a consumer.
    Yesterday I had to buy new orthotics for my son, I had to drop him off at the store door (he's 10) and then drive around the block 6 times before I could get a parking spot. When I got into the store, my blood pressure was up, and I told the shop keeper what a pain parking was and that he should move his store to where his customers could at least park their car.
    He gave me the $45 orthotics at half price.

    Take it back for that was not what you intended to pay for.
    Surely they will understand. I have taken material back that had an awful odor to it and also because of it being faulty.
