Since I haven't gotten much in the way of new quilts started; recently I came across this picture of my first handmade quilt, twin size for my son's loft bed when he was younger, 1988, I think. It is completely hand pieced and quilted. As the saying goes, look at it on a galloping horse!!! I've come a long way baby!

It's beautiful whether I am looking at it on a galloping horse or a snail.
    I love it!

Beautiful! I've seen the block. It's nice to see a whole quilt made with it. Love your colors.

Very nicely done. I admire anyone who does hand work, but after spending hours stitching in the ditch yesterday, I can see the reason for it.

Not as much time as you would think. I hand pieced in the van going on trips and while sitting at soccer practice and Tae Kwon Do practice.

Beautiful - I love the colors, too! Looks like very nice work on your part! No galloping horse needed!

Love how the whites set off the calicos. I'm sure you can find your mistakes although we can't see them. But it's nice to revisit our earlier works to see how far we have come! Thanks for sharing.

I think that is one terrific quilt!!! I actually want to make one like that; but mine won't be hand quilted.

Yes I do. My son and DIL don't have a use for it right now so I'm keeping it for them. Since it was made for a loft bed it is not a true twin. I'm hopping to give it back to them if and when they have children. If they don't have a family it will probably just be one I keep for sentimental reasons.
