Brother PQ1500S
#11
I have this machine too. IT is a heavy and sturdy machine. I purchased it for FMQ but haven't really used it that much yet. I still love my every day Brother machine. I just wish the 15000 that you could SEE when the bobbin thread is running low. IT doesn't and I really missed that feature a LOT when I used it.

I bought this machine thinking I would use it for FMQ, but I love it for piecing also. It's a workhorse. I got mine from Allbrands and it came with a cover, bunch of thread and bobbins and also lots of Organ needles. The only negative is there isn't an open toe foot available.

I bought this machine last month to replace the one I quilted with that broke (someday that one will go to the shop and be used as tabletop). So far I love it, I have it on my frame. I ordered from amazon and it was here in 3 days. Needed no adjustments.

I just got this machine and it has a great stitch. I have a question, maybe you all can help me with. I threaded the machine with Superior Invisible Thread on the top and cotton thread in the bobbin, but I can only get a little ways before it breaks. I did not have this problem with cotton thread, top and bottom. I have threaded the machine per the examples for polyester or thread that tangles or breaks (both of them) in the instruction manual, but it still only goes a little ways before the top thread breaks. Can you tell me if you have had luck with the invisible thread, and if so what settings you use? Thanks so much!

I've had this machine for 15+ yrs. It's my go-to work horse machine. It does a fabulous straight stitch & FMQ. The space in the harp is very functional. It does not do zigzag. It's very reliable. Many of my friends also have this machine and also prefer to work on it than another of their machines.
You've found a good deal for this machine. I'd jump on it.
