Unhappy Quattro 6000D challenges and issues

I purchased a Brother Quattro 6000D and upgraded it to the latest and greatest with all three upgrades. I intentded to use this machine for embroidering quilt labels utilizing the embroidery design functions. I also intended to use if for free motion quilting and quilting with embroidery designs. So far it is great for piecing because it sews basic stitches great. But I have trouble with the "fancy" stitches and using the free motion quilting functions because the bobbin thread bunches up on the bottom of the fabric. Nothing I do seems to solve the problem and brother technicians are of no help. Has anyone else had these types of issues? What did you do to solve the problem?

I've ordered a few parts from sewingwarehouse.com and they treated me very well, including sending me a cheaper part that would work on my machine when the right one was on backorder. It was perfect and I'm still using it!! They called me to ask if they could swap for the cheaper part! Their prices are very good!
