Has anyone made a jigsaw puzzle quilt? I am going to order a pattern but was curious about the yardage. I'd like to get a jump start on getting fabric for it. My husband loves puzzles so I thought I would finally make something for him on his birthday. Thanks for any info!!! :)

Do a search on here for the puzzle quilts. There are a few different patterns and directions. you don't have to buy a pattern. you can just use scraps of all different prints and fabrics.

The math I did uses 1 fat quarter = 2 puzzle blocks. And since I was doing it as a FQ quilt, that's all the measurement I needed.

What you can do is figure out how much fabric 1 block needs (varies depending on your puzzle piece size) and use that to figure out how much to buy of each color.

I'm actually working on it now. 1 fat quarter will give you exactly (like with 1" x 2.5" of excess) 4 blocks. Exactly 4.
